It seems somehow my daughter has broken her plug socket in her bedroom.
The switch has been pushed right in.

I'm wondering if it is possible to just open it up and put the switch right, or if i will need to buy a new socket?

New socket.... easy to change if you remember to turn the power off first.

best not to trust the label on the fuze box.  check with a desk lamp or similar that the socket is 'dead' before proceeding

Plus, if there is an ELCB or RCCD on the main fusebox, touching any of the wires together may trip that.... and take all the house power out.

house is fine...
though there were far more wires in that point than was necessary. 4 of each!

I'd love to see that house have an electrical survey done... especially with that cable dangling down the wall....
