no toms this year as I've decided to give someone else a chance

looks as if some of the strawberry seeds have germinated

had a leter to ask me to pick up my (free from the council) compost bin on Sat.  got one but another will do no harm

got the new compost bin. it's huge!


1 cubic metre seems to be about the size needed to form a good critical mass... feed it shredded paper sometimes too... and straw if you can find some...

not when it's been left in the yard for a couple of months first with the hose on it every now and again.  Dad and many others have  used it in the garden for years on end with no ill effects. helps to collect it from the top of the beach when the tides are on neaps

I know a lot of crofters in the Scottish Islands use it, but I've never seen it used anywhere else... all those sandhoppers gve me the creeps  Lips Sealed

potatoes are up and running in the greenhouse pots.  cabbage growing like mad in greenhouse. about 50 stawberry plants up.  peas in greenhouse have flowers on


oh!  and 'someone' has bought 300 summer bulbs for me to plant in her garden.  There's room for about 20  Lips Sealed

planted leek and letuice seeds in trays in the greenhouse for me and father

planted first batch of carrot seeds in a large pot in the greenhouse for my father

still eating carrot, cabbage shallot, leeksand onions from last year's plantings
