At last I have found Land Cress seeds (Wilkinsons BOGOF). And to make it a sweeter find, Pol had Land Cress with her meal yesterday and loves it!

Hmm... I suppose it's going to be war against the snails again this year as they love it.  Undecided

I've already killed dozens of little black slugs....

Still no sign of good weather to get the greenhouse sowing going.....

Still, we have loads of crocus and daffodils out already, and the Naked (Siberian) Kiwi is sprouting leaves already... so I'd better prune the other Kiwi (Jenny) before it wastes energy making buds on the redundant vines.

I'm soooooo impatient to start this year... the mild winter has my body clock thinking it's Spring already  Grin

The sunshine drew me out into the garden... and the pruning shears came out: roses, kiwis, clematis, passion flower, lavender.... all into the black bin 'cos it's horrible to compost.

Next job... the cayenne chillis in the chilliarium need to be picked and the plants binned (the winter killed them off, but it was worth the experiment), then the last of the priairie fire chillis have to be picked in the greenhouse, and any bad ones stripped for their seed. Those plants look alive so I'll see if they survive properly and plant them into the garden this year as a trial.

The packets of seed are calling to me, but I have a feeling we're going to get another period of cold weather, so I won't bother planting just yet.

I've been unable to find any root trainers apart from on the official website, so I'll have to decide how many I need and get an order in sharpish....

http://www.rootrainers.co.uk/gardeners/rootrainers/books

I buy just the "books" and stand them in seed trays... it's a lot cheaper that way......

3 dozen leeks transplanted after digging and improving the soil, then I dug the spot where they were before and whilst I had the fork out, decided to dig over the small raised bed too...

Planted 4 dozen onions sets too....

My manual vacuum cleaner for the fishpool has arrived, so I will be able to clear the sludge off the bottom and in doing so empty part of the water for the annual water change.

£22.45 for the vac... www.worldofwater.com wanted £75!!!!!
