cabbage seeds tomorrow
later sowings to follow as the potato area of parents' garden will become available starting first week in June
six Tumbler tomato plants in pots in parents' greenhouse together with ten mixed tomato plants

I've done some gardening today too Fred.Cleared most of my patio of weeds.I really should try growing plants again on it this year.

Anyone who puts a seed of bulb into the earth IS a gardener....
Remember to water them Fred ( the bane of small pot-use)! You could add a mulch to the top of the soil once the plants are bigger... that'll reduce the waterloss by evaporation.
Plus if you raise the pots/troughs off the ground, an inch or so, you'll give fewer hiding places for slugs, and any roots that appear out of the drainage holes will be air-pruned, forcing better root formation INSIDE the soil.

scrounged a couple of troughs yesterday and one had been stored upside down. enough snails to open a French restaurant!
