1 lb. lamb or beef small diced (If you use beef, add a mutton/lamb stock cube)
2 onions, finely minced
3 tomatoes, peeled seeded, then crushed
3 carrots, thinly sliced
2 celery stalks, thinly sliced
3 medium potatoes, chopped
2 turnips, chopped
fresh parsley and/or coriander
2 tablespoons tomato puree
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon  salt
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon tumeric
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon saffron
1 tin chickpeas

fry the meat, then add the celery, onion and carrot and fry a little until soft, add the rest, loads of water then simmer.

You can add chilli powder at the table... or Harissa paste if you have it.
