England should be in good shape after winning the toss and electing to bat on a very hard and flat looking Napier pitch. Key injury to Kyle Mills means the Kiwi bowling attack is depleted and 1 new bowler, debutant Tim Southee will get less than perfect conditions for his maiden test, on a deck that looks like it contains a million runs.

Time will tell...

England 240-7 New Zealand: Pietersen rescues shaky England

<p>
Kevin Pietersen saved England from total embarrassment on the opening day of
  the third Test by posting his 11th Test hundred. But even with the input of
  Pietersen, who was finally dismissed for 129 when he drove loosely and was
  caught at gully, England's plight in this series-deciding Test is pretty
  disconcerting.

Southey has certainly earnt his place in the team... too bad stupid Martin couldn't keep it together to help him get to a century.

Certainly a good comeback from 1-0 down in the series... Good to see we've played your strugglers into form for the return series... Roll Eyes
