"Supposedly if your withdraw cash from an ATM
and do not physically remove the cash then
after a certain amount of time the cash is
sucked back in to the machine and your account
is not debited. Is it possible to get someone
to try taking out, say £50 and then slide out
the middle £20, leaving £30 to be sucked back
in and then see if their account is not
debited?"

i didn't know the machines sucked the money back in.
assuming they do, i reckon they'd count the money as it came back.

Something or someone has been sucking money out of my Czech mate's ATM... he went today to draw £250 towards his rent (from a supposed balance of £700+) and was denied the cash... his balance is only £4.74.

I've told him to get to his bank ASAP tomorrow....

Plus his bank (Llloyds) took out every direct debit twice last month and still haven't repaid into his account... he's changing his account to HSBC...

Don't think the money gets sucked back in. My SIL was passing an ATM one day, and noticed money in the machine. She took it into the bank, they took her name and address, and a few day's later a big bouquet of flowers arrived. Bank notified customer and passed on SIL address.
