You can overdose on almost anything, so why the sudden panic?

i've seen parents tip approximate doses of medicine into a babys juice drink rather than fight with correct dosage on a spoon, or waste time sorting it with those syringe things Angry

Personally i think most cough medicines are useless anyway, don't take them myself. Prefer warm sweet drinks to ease a scratchy throat and menthol aromas for bunged up chests, like karvol for babies (good stuff, smells a bit of cola to me though)

I prefer to use Calpol with babies, used to make Emma sleep ... which then cured everything Smiley

Buttercup syrup was good though when she was little, and some Vick on her chest.  I don't see a problem as long as you measure correctly.

Don't like Calpol.  I think it's over used, as a sort of medical panacea for babies.  (Mostly just to get them to shut up.)  I wouldn't use any cough mixture, that wasn't prescribed by a Doctor, either.
