I once dipped my paintbrush in my tea and drank a mouthful of white spirit.

More recently, I went, in the dark, for a bottle of medicine, on top of the bathroom cabinet.

First mouthful proved it to be nail-polish remover.

It gave the hospital staff a giggle, at least...
