Bollocks, if Bush likes to style himself as do all American presidents the leader of the free world he has a responsibility, even if he doesn't know where most of the rest of the world is, it's the insularity that is causing a lot of the problems at the moment

By the way it's not just Bush and the Republicans, I can't see Barack Obama   being any better as his grip of foreign affairs seems just as nebulous

And Clinton is a vile, desperately ambitious, beast.

And, above all else, I just don't trust the bitch.  (And I use that word very deliberately.)

@Cherry:  Pretty much.  I blame Congress (both parties, but especially Nancy Pelosi) more than anyone, so far as the politicians go.  Wall Street is reacting more to the fear of what is happening in the campaigns (i.e. the lack of a clear opponent to Hillary) than to anything that Bush has done.  They're afraid of what a new Clinton administration would mean, and are steeling themselves for it.  The same thing happened in '92.

I'm not going to get into it on this one cuz obviously you aren't going to take any one of the candidates word for it and you don't seem to have the same veiws that I do either so it's not really worth it.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing a McCain/Liebermann ticket.  I'd vote for those two without a second thought.  They're conservative on national security issues, yet rather liberal on social issues.  Which is why their respective parties don't like them very much...
