From May VM customers will be able to tune into any BBC channel, hit the red button, and watch BBC programmes from the last 7 days.

This will free up a lot of bandwidth being chewed-up by VM customers previously using iPlayer on their PC internet connection.

As we've already paid the BEEB to see their stuff, I resent having to pay twice, for some of them, via iplayer.

I think Pay for View might be the Beeb's new commercial model... especially if "their" licence fee gets shared out amongst other TV companies...

iPlayer is free online

It's free, but restricted.

Some have a limited life, others can be downloaded, but only viewed for the next thirty days, unless you pay.

Not that I haven't found a way around the DRM...  Grin

As we've already paid, they should all be free.

After all, you don't pay to video things, do you?

You would, if you wanted to watch the same things that I have.

Not if I wanted to watch them within 30 days of broadcast, but after that.

If you search around, there's quite a bit of a hoo-ha going on, about it.

Try googling "iplayer""drm" (Including the quote-marks).
