Dual Booting
«

I'm going to dualboot with XP.
The kids need thier games to work, and i wouldn't mind my favourite working either.
if the virtual box situation was a bit more advanced i could continue down that route. But currently it doesn't have 3d graphics abilities and i need that part.
So i'm in the process of cleaning out some dead wood so i can partition a small bit for XP.

Sucks a bit, doesn't it? Linux is
such
a good OS, and
way
ahead of Windows, but hardly anything commercial works with it.

it does suck.
it really needs backing by major companies...
I'll still use linux everyday, i love it and can do everything i want to some degree (besides this one game)
plus I'm hoping beyond hope the virtual box team can fix their possible solution with openGL
But i do loathe to have to use windows for anything. Their kind of monopoly isn't healthy

hell I tried dualboot you know..
windows crashed on my drivers
so my vid card is broke.. half of it is molten I guess
don't need windows for anything else than games though..
well I don't even need it for games since I could get cedega for that but I would need a working vid card

I reckon. My last one took a couple of months to get back to semi-normal. Pain in the arse...

Tat's what happens when you insist on having an integral row of optics, a chiller, and a bottle opener in your PC.

i only have the 1 drive which i didn't partition when i installed linux as i saw no need... i need to split that up.
I could have used gparted to do that without loosing any Linux stuff, but as my DVD drive is very touchy about burnt dvd's, i may have to do a complete wipe and restart. And to be honest i don't think it is worth it.
