Wubi is beta and not officially supported.. would explain everything I'd say  laugh

  Live CD does indeed work perfectly.  It's what I'm using, now.  From what I've seen, I like it.

Spite I found this thread on Ubuntu that has a few suggestions in it and I
am trying it with smaller sizes as detailed here:
