if you can still use the machine you want to format, you can download a little progam that will find the key you currently use.
Write that down and use that.

Also as you have a separate Drivers and utilities disc you'll have to run that as well to reload all of them as well, my last laptop had them on a separate disc as well, then go to MS updates for all the updates since the original disc, and that could take hours!!

Yeah they were great when I got this pc and the code didnt match my disc and they produced a new code for me Smiley

Is there not a little sticker on the underside of the laptop with the code on DM ??

 Got it reformatted by askin 'catsmums' partner (he's very clever) all I had to do was hold down Ctrl & F11 as the puter started
