Not really unexpected, and precisely because of the reasons listed (mostly IE's bundling into Windows).

I wouldn't really be surprised if the Apple OS follows suit in a decade or so, now that Macs can run Windows...

This is true, but it's not being advertised the way the reverse is.

IMHO, Apple is making a big mistake by not shouting it from the rooftops.

I suspect it'll be OS/2 all over again...

Navigator was a better browser than IE but became unreliable when AOL took it over...
