toying with the idea of replacing the BT speedtouch 300  with another to use if I go the linux route Got it on dual boot no probs and can access my files etc but scared of wrecking the 300 with the firmware update thus depriving me of Twaddle.

Can anyone suggest one that wroks 'out of the box' with Linux  and is relatively cheap as I'm now on half pay?  Don't have or intend to use wireless

i use bt home hub with an ethernet cable.. can't get the wireless working on it but it isn't vital..

I'd be reluctant to upgrade the firmware too
