if you install something called automatix there are codecs there you can use as you aren't in the u.s, so not subject to u.s licensing laws  you're outdated  with ubuntu 7.04 there's no need for automatix.. go to the add/remove thingy.. set filter to show all available.. then type in ubuntu.. there's Ubuntu Restricted Extra's package ^_^ it'll install and configure java, flash, codecs, fonts, everything
