The screen is shaking from side to side.
tried altering res and frequency, no difference.
it is also fine on my linux partition
Ideas?

Do you have an onboard graphics driver ?... if so change to basic VESA and see if that shakes too...

Sounds more like the monitor, rather than the video card. Do you have another monitor you can test?

I dunno about that. While it's limited in resolution, I much prefer my LCD monitor to the CRT secondary. For one thing, it's much brighter.
