I dunno about that.  While it's limited in resolution, I much prefer my LCD monitor to the CRT secondary.  For one thing, it's much brighter.

  Colour depth is awful, as is the translation of colour.  Also, I like a monitor where the picture doesn't vanish, or turn into a negative, the second I move slightly to one side.

The one I have handles color just fine, and it's viewable from any angle.  If you can see the screen, you can see the image.  In fact, except for the limited resolution (1024x768 max), the capbilities are exactly those of the CRT I have as my secondary monitor.
