No sharing set  (plus I am the only one that uses this PC).

Apparently, I'm no longer the Admin on my own PC.  (No one else uses mine, either.  Or, at least, no one has in the last fortnight.)

I set my machine to boot straight in... no password request, no select user page.. just straight in... and it's always worked well...

That's how I have it.  But all of a sudden, I'm no longer Admin.  Although, the Admin account has my old password.  Huh

did yo have any luck with the OH command?

it tells you what process is using that file.  Then you have to go into taks manager or maybe services to end that process.

you sould be able to delete it then

Still the same as when I started all this guff....

Searches all point to handles, but test programs find no handles...so it must be a permissions thing... which has me baffled...

Cracked it!

Went back to Safe Mode and right clicked a file and got a security tab...

Tried and tried to get those greyed-out boxes tickable to no avail, so I tried properties for the whole drive "E" and found that permissions were only to "My Name/ Administrator" so changed it for "My Name"... and applied to all files and folders on that drive...

BINGO!!!

Now I am searching to find out why this happened...

Taf Bach.

As previously metioned, it was probably something to do with M$oft Update! (I had a similar problem after running M$oft Update!) Shocked Undecided
