We have decided to reinstall the old visual warning system that we used to have.
Now, a person who is warned, banned or post moderated (unable to post until the posts are approved), will have the appropriate colour circle in their profile, and in the offending post.
When we had it before we didn't have to use it often, and only a few of the members will remember it. But it is there if we need it. As Total Twaddle grows and gets more active it is inevitable that fights will break out.
We of course expect you all to moderate yourselves and know when you are crossing the line.
The system will work like this....
1st offence, a 3 day warning
2nd offence, a week warning
3rd offence, muted for a week
4th banned a week
5th banned forever.
That gives an offender plenty and plenty of warning that they are pushing it, so by the fifth warning they are asking for it.
Also if admin and the team consider behaviour sufficiently serious then some or all of the first four steps may be omitted. Plus continuing to push it when you are under a warning could result in a ban.
Spamming Twaddle is a permanent ban. end of story. if in doubt ask admin or staff before doing the deed.
We will start this off with everyone on a clean slate.. so be good.
P.S This will also be mentioned in the next newsletterA change in moderation is not taking place, so don't expect a clamp down or anything, we are just changing how we deal with future problems IF they arise.
