The EU has unveiled a plan for reform of its Common Agricultural Policy, the rural payments system that costs more than 40bn euros (£32bn) a year.

They aim to scrap milk quotas and give farmers incentives to look after the countryside rather than producing food.

  Yep.  The price of meat is going through the roof, too.  Plus, there's going to be a shortage of pork, in a few months.

  I know.  Some of their stuff's not bad, but a lot of it is truly awful.  I just get frozen meat from there, mostly.

I had to fight to get to the reduced price shelves in ASDA today.... and stocked-up on 3-minute-cook spaghetti (useby 2010) that was on BOGOF.

Got 2 packs of beer at £7 each, instead of £10... and they knocked £2 per pack off at the tills  Grin

The price of meat made me shudder.....
