All benefits have stopped at the PO... and the PO now charge to accept payments for many utilities...
They aint stopped here - I still get mine there - yes via a PO card account
especially setup for those on benefits and only allows benefits to be
paid in and taken out.........
That's the account that HMG is pulling out of.. ...so the PO will stop it ASAP....

Just another reason for Lisa to move to NZ and have Izzy as her personal banking assistant

No, they'll still keep some Post Offices, and let people collect their money from them. Trouble is, people may end up travelling miles to get to a PO. Not everyone has, or can get a bank account. I know that around here, if you don't drive, and have no intention of leaving the country, it's nigh on impossible to open an account, nowadays.

yup.. i was going to see about opening another account for stuff, but can't as i have no photo id.
me and hubby wanted to convert one of our accounts to joint too, but can't as we had no photo id.
and i'm sorry to say the government will have to find a way of giving people their money, they are entitled to it by law, and if they cannot open a bank account for various reasons then the government must provide an alternative.
