had a letter today from a well known high street retailer offering me an extended warranty for a freeview HDD recorder.  £70 a year   Shocked

I've seen new units sold for less.

they can investigate sex and tourism.   con artists.

to top it all, after trying three units and having all three fail I ended swapping the unit for two other brands that have so far proved reliable.

Yes I get them for my washer etc... its sometimes cheaper to just buy a new one. 
Our Sky+ has been swapped 3 times as we seem to blow it up ... next time Andy will just change the hard drive himself when out of warrenty.
