I live on a hill Smiley infact thinking about it ... I have always lived on a hill I seem to buy houses on hills.

Only dodgy things round here are mines, there is one running along under the main road by me.
My mum once found coal in our garden ... till I told her it was the remains from the bbq Grin Grin Grin

It's amazing that up where Lisa lives... on a severe slope, they get floods as well... water rushing off the hills... in the back door and out the front...

Most of the streets around here are on a valley wall with a river at the very bottom.

Think of a V or a U and you have general idea. The valley I'm in is more U shaped, so there are some steets on the valley floor too. They get really flooded in places.

The streets don't go all the way up the mountain so there are hills higher that the water runs down on.
The flooding wouldn't have happened last year if the council did their jobs and kept the drains clear..
isn't that typical though..

I thought we were going to get it the other week when we had really bad rain, even though i'm on quite a steep slope of the mountain, if the drains at the back had blocked we'd have been in trouble.

It was gushing down our street like a river the other day - so having extra mountain rain must be high.  Amazed your drains could cope.

Doubtful, duck.  You live in Cannock.  I've known Rats turn their noses up at living in Cannock, claiming it's too far from civilisation.  laugh

I was referring to all these people who buy riverside properties, and endlessly go on, and on, and on, about it.  Well, see what you get, living in a riverside property this summer?  laugh

Well I was wondering  laugh thought it to be an odd comment to make about Cannock !! anyhow I live in Heath Hayes Wink

I wouldn't want to live by the river - too many midges and mossies in summer (real summer not the washout we had this year).  Plus I don't like swans, where theres water you get swans and they chase you and break your arms !!
