Title: fecking washine machine!!
Post by: Lisa on November 29, 2013, 19:53:43 PM
its decided to die, i have only had it since july and I am not best pleased.
even with the high usage it gets it shouldn't have died yet

i can't find the manual anywhere online, and the one i have found in the house is arabic, which is pretty much useless to me.

i think it thinks, the filer is clogged, but having taken it out and washed it. I can confirm it is fine.
No matter what program i try to put it on, it works for a few seconds, dies, and an error pops up briefly on the display before dying and attempting the program again...

as for the errorcode, your guess is as good as mine, I think it is saying 2a, my daughter thinks it is a lower case d then a.
it's not clear either way..

helpline open at 8am, so i'll be on the phone.
It is supposed to be under warranty and with a 5 years part guarantee, so hopefully it won't cost...

If you give us the make'n'model, we could look for a manual.

Still, the helpline's available, now, so...

it's been fab until now.
filter is a bit sensitive, but otherwise it's been great.

I can only find a parts list, and it can't be attached to TT.  >:(

My Zanussi mate can't find one either. And if if he can't, using their own database, you might be stuffed. He suggested a drain blockage, or fill problem due to blocked inlet filter on the hose or knackered inlet valve.

I think it's a drain problem.
I can find a manual for the 7kg version which is virtually identical

If it's any help, I'm a Hoover Washing Machine service engineer.

 :)

What exactly is occuring?

ps. If you go to the Prices page on my website, click on the Hoover Manuals Download button Here (http://www.raydoyle.co.uk/prices.htm)

and enter your model number, it will download the pdf for you. If your exact model is not listed , just download the one that is nearest.

All I know for sure is that it was half way through the wash, it may have been the rinse cycle, when I noticed the display was flashing.
Its never done it before and it's not entirely clear what the display is saying. It's not there for long enough.
I set it to drain, to remove clothes and it attempts for a minute, turns itself off, flashes error and tries again.
if I drain it manually I can empty the machine.
the filter is clear.
the spinning fan like thing by the filter goes round.

if I set it to rinse it takes in water fine.
if I set it to spin it seems to get stuck as it drains.
I'll try the machine on an empty wash to see how far it gets.

scrap that.

it isn't filling in a cycle. power is cutting and it's flashing error.

circuit board gone?

:) The" fan like thing" is the discharge pump, you may have a "drain timeout", does your discharge hose go into a standpipe on the wall behind the machine, or into a u bend under the sink? if the latter, check there has been no build up of detritus in the u bend that could slow down the discharge rate. That machine will only pump out for a certain time, if it does not notice a sufficient decrease in water level in that time, it "times out" and stops.

I will pm you  ;)

it goes into the ubend.

I'll check it.

If the u bend is not the problem, try doing a cold reset, make sure the power is switched off at the socket for 30 mins minimum, switch back on and select a quick wash, if it starts see how it goes, if it stops at some point watch the leds on the control panel, if thay are flashing, count the flashes, ie , they will flash in groups, stop and then start again.

eg,   *****      *****     *****  that would be error code 5, and from there we can move on.

if it's flashing you want.
it's 1

the ubend wasn't blocked.
a little dirty but not bad

I believe error code 1 is the door interlock ??, from your symptoms doesn't sound very likely, but may be worth a spray of WD40 or similar in the catch receiver , try the cold reset idea and see what occurs.

I don't think it's the door.

it won't open unless it is completely empty
I'll try wd40

I don't think it's the door.

Neither do I, but Error Code 1 is the door interlock, but the machine may be well confused by now as to what it is supposed to be doing, hence trying the cold reset.

OK.
that made no difference.

it is almost like the power is being interrupted.
it is trying to do what I tell it.

but turning off and on all the time

the door switch has killed my washer. WD40 no good. Call out fees and time on site minimum fees make the warranty worth next to nothing

I believe there is no call out/labour fee as it is in the first year. and there is a five year parts guarantee.
if there is no joy on Thursday, I'm sending it back.

is it strange that was washing machine has been off at the wall since Saturday evening, I just turned the switch on it of curiosity and it has carried on where it has left off. on the drain option....
still flashing error though

Our last washer failure involved a new circuit board that is useless unless it gets "flashed" by a laptop program they won't be released to the general public.

i don't think it is fixed, and some silly person just really patronised me on the phone.

told me i hadn't put enough washing in, and that maybe it was all tangled

errr.... it's my washing machine, i know if i have filled it enough... i'm aware it's a large load machine, but i'm supposed to be able to close the door >:(
then she told me it wasn't a drier and clothes were supposed to be wet...

i'm a bit cross..

i just had to manually drain to get it to spin my clothes....
If i have to do it on the next load i'm sticking it up someones nose..

Post by: Lisa on December 05, 2013, 19:22:58 PM
next load was fine
3rd load will not spin what ever I do.

I'm going to have a fight in the morning when the phone lines open. they'll probably tell me I'm not using it right again

Ask to speak to the supervisor and get the operators name, that usually shakes them up to doing somerthing

Post by: Lisa on December 08, 2013, 08:54:44 AM
I'll be trying that now.

the machine only spins 1 in 10 times. no matter how many clothes I put in it.
the draining thing I tried was just coincidence...

well he's fixed it... changed the board again

but now my pause button doesn't work....
I'll be phoning them out after crimbo I think. too busy to waste a day waiting in on their command.
