I really don't like coffee made with water. YUK!
However, I've been forced to re-evaluate that, thanks to THESE (http://lyonscoffeeuk.com/products).
Canine's gonads. :)
Ohhh might have to look out for those
Oooo
The lad uses similar made by the local Costa Rica Coffee Company.
I know this is a bit of a cliché...
But, those things taste like coffee used to. :)

coffee is evil
I just wouldn't function without it!
Me neither. But I am into Nescafe. Nothing else will do ::)
Looked in sainsbury to give those coffee bags a go but couldn't find them >:(
I like the look of those! Better than making HoN instant when I drink tea (which I do, never coffee for me).
Can't stand instant, first job in the morning is setting up the coffee machine that grinds fresh beans and setting the timer for lunchtime
I miss my coffee. :(
I won't do Nescafé. Nestle are on my blacklist, evil bastards.
Seems they're, now, one of the most boycotted brands in the UK. Bloody right, too!

If I HAVE to use instant, for whatever reason, I use Douwe Egbert's, which B&M sell pretty cheaply.

Yrp,I like Douwe Egberts too
Me too, best flavour; I drink it at work but oddly, never at home.
I didn't even know that about nescafe :o
I drink it cos I was brought up with it and like the taste.
Dunno what to bloody drink now :-X
No thanks :)
I don't like the taste of alcohol :)
And tea tastes of tin to me for some reason ???
Try different teas, El. We have loads of different flavours, here. I'm heavily into Vanilla Chai, at the moment. Oddly, when it comes to plain, basic tea, Home Bargains do some by "Robert Roberts", whoever they are. Big, brown box, with about a hundred bags for one and six, or something that silly. It's pretty good.
Just found their website:
http://robertroberts.ie/tea
and this is the stuff we've got:
http://robertroberts.ie/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/strong-tea.jpg
If anywhere else sells it, I'd guess it's not as cheap as we got it for, at Home Bargains.
Used to drink fruit tea at work simply cos it tasted ok cold and that was ok. Will give that a try :-* Branded stuff ie titles pg etc leaves a horrid tin taste in my mouth . Maybe the tannin?
There's quite a difference, between Chinese and Indian tea. Indian tea cab be a bit like that. Earl Grey's not anything like as expensive as it used to be. Might be worth you trying that. By the way, if you use teab bags, you're getting the dusty crap that's left, after the proper stuff's been used for tea leaves. I know bags are easier. But, loose-keaf tea's MUCH better.
Personally, I'm, like you, in that. I can't stand Typhoo, Quick Brew, or any of that stuff. It's too bland.
Oooooh channel 4 is on about different coffees and prices
The cheapo places, like B&M, Home Bargains, et al, do some good brands for squat. :)
Well. Got me teapot. Got me a kettle that has variable temperature. Got me real tea and it is bloody gorgeous. Only had one coffee this morning and can't believe the difference :D. No tin taste at all :D
Good tea's worth the effort. :)
Nothing like reviving an old thread...
One tea that I'd never tried, for no particular reason, I've been recently getting into, as they say.
It tastes like no other tea I've ever tasted. But, after I got over the initial "WTF?", it's really growing on me.
It's dried, apparently, by being smoked over pine wood.
Lapsang Souchong.
As ever, the proper stuff is WAY better than the bagged crap.
Pol keeps coming home with bags of crap from Flying Tiger (Copenhagen) that make "tea". It smells like pot pourri and costs a fortune.
P'raps it's dope... ;)
i like tiger, but not tried their teas.
their herbs and spices are ok
I ordered some Twinings strong tea tea bags so that he can use the tassimo as a kettle and only has to press a button. Anyhow, they sent me Twinings everyday tea bags as a substitute. Now, they used to be known as swining twining in our house because we thought they were like gnats wee.
Now I don't know if it's because it was a brew made for me that made it taste better. But they are nice. I'm suprised as they were a good price.
Currently loving camomile and honey tea bags. Tesco own brand. ( I keep watching Eat well for less) and we are now swapping the brands slowly over to own brands and value branding.
The Clipper Every day tea's nice. Quite cheap, too!
I avoid bags, though. Cheap tea and plastic.
Dunno if I mentioned it, before, but there's a small bottle of coffee, called "Press'd". When I saw it, I thought "EEK! Camp!". But, it's nothing like that. It's rather nice, as it 'appens. Pity the bottle's plastic, though.
I only buy bags now so that he can make a brew. This way, he has no kettle or pot or to lift and no danger of scalding water near him. The tassimo has a cup sized amount of water metered out and it's bliss to have a brew made for me. Even if I put the tea bag in the cup plus sweetener , he presses the button and I remove the cup. It's the nearest I'm getting to a brew made so I'm grateful for it lol.
I'll look out for that coffee though.
I use an old Swan coffee machine, to make tea. It's like those filter thingies, but slightly different. Odd, but it works well, coz I just put the tea in, add the wet stuff and away it goes. :)
Oddly, I prefer tea like gnat's wee. Weak and milky. Love Twinings Everyday.
I like Twinings, but I like to do my bit for the small, independent firms, where I can. Twinings is owned by Associated British Foods, unfortunately.
There're a few tiny independents, up here. Teas From The Manor do wonderful blends and out local brewery at Dunham Massey makes gorgeous beer. :) [/slight drift]
I've seen the Tea Pigs stuff, but they charge WAY too much, as do Dragonfly.
I won't mention Yorkshire tea and their new Malted Biscuit tea, coz I might get you addicted. It's LUVVLY! It's still an independent company, too, under Harrogate's Bettys and Taylors.
