My dogs used to eat anything they were given or stole.  I was hosting a canoe club committee meeting when one of mine entered the room with something in it's mouth.  I took it off the dog and found it to be a partially frozen chicken portion.  Said dog had found a way top open the freezer, then the drawer and extract a portion from the packet.  Neighbour used to have peacock.  Noisy buggas.  They used to sit on the common wall with tails on my side.  One dog could get up an 8 ft wall.  Peacock were replaced one by one by a pile of feathers in my yard.

Love my cordless dyson. Got the big animal cylinder one and though very good it is a pain to drag round. The cordless one is forever being used especially as a quick crumb hoover on the worktops. Not as effective on the floor for us with a dog.

Not his cigs. First of all they went up by taking the discount off multiple packs. Then by another 40p. Now almost all the cheaper brands are 8 quid  :o but there is no way he will stop. Had to buy him loose tobacco for now then ask relations to get him some when they go on holiday.  I absolutely refuse to line this greedy governments coffers in cigarettes tax. I wish they'd go and pick on something else like fat tax and sugar tax. Oh they already have

They seem to be going up weekly along with tobacco  ??? When will the thick sods realise that it does not stop people? He knows it is bad for him. All smokers know that and the more I nag, the more he smokes. Thank goodness he only has low alcohol now. And thank goodness that I no longer smoke and I don't drink alcohol cos we couldn't afford it. Enough already go and find another tax coffer.

English "wine" for the lad. It tastes like grapejuice with added vodka to me, but he likes it.

Cigs for Pol, all brands suddenly lined up at £8 each the other day (miniumum pricing policy? ).

ASDA had loads of cooked Firecracker Chicken Wings reduced from £2.50 to 64p a pack. That's my TV snacks sorted.

Think all supermarkets will do it. Thought it was always announced when prices rise? I feel like I'm being ripped off cue for none smokers to say that nobody forces us to buy them.bex cept I am a non smoker who buys them for him. Son went in a stag do the other week and gave his dad some and Bro is going next week so is giving him some. Meantime I am now buying volume tobacco and tubes and making his on a machine.

Think all supermarkets will do it

It's well worth doing a price check online these days. Tesco is now at £8.42 , but ASDA and Sainsburys are at £8.15.

I use Tesco delivery. I thought you couldn't have a price war with tobacco? I suppose times change.
The volume tobacco is 19 pounds and makes around 60 to 70 cigarettes but the tubes are around two pound per 100. I get those off Amazon by the 1000 for a tenner.
It's a dear do smoking. Glad I kicked it in touch. He never will and doesn't want to either.
Anyhow somebody needs to stop me buying this thermomix type machine that's in my basket.  ::)

I asked the Morrisons' manager if they had any pots spare. Not at this time, but he asked if I wanted any compost. Four 40 litre bags with small holes they were going to bin. A nice gift.  ;D

The tobacco war is still on, Sainsburys is the cheapest. I pointed out that multipacks worked out 30p a pack of 20 cigs more expensive, so he called HQ for an explanation. I'll get a call later today he expects.

Sainsburys got back to me as to why one brand of their singles packs of cigs are at £7.65 but in the multipacks they are £7.95.

It is all due to a special offer from their supplier. When that is finished, all packs will go up to £7.95.

 :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

The supplier also told them that by mid-summer ALL cigarettes will be a minimum of £8 a pack, and rolling tobacco, cigars and pipe tobacco will follow suit.

I would like tubes in the kitchen but me n leccie don't mix lol.
Biggest problem is the kitchen cos of his bedroom.  We have no big window now and his room is so bright that the kitchen seems even darker
P's.  I got some LED cupboard strip lights that are rechargeable and do a good job lighting up the worktops . They are about 18 inches long and fit onto magnets so you can just take them off to get more light where you need it.

With LEDs it's not the "power" in watts you need to look for, but the lumens value (lm). Many lamps are still being sold that are dimmer than a cabinet minister.

A case of beer for £25... that's £1.04 each can. She told me she had to sell it as it wasn't selling well. She normally sold it at £1.50 a can, or 4 for £5.  :D :D :D

Also a £25 slab of Silverside for £5 as the butcher said he would rather it not be turned into mince. The butcher is my mate's old schoolfriend, and I gave him lots of advice on chillies a while back, but never knew it was him or his friendship with my mate.

A mini chip fryer. I just don't get on with the air fryer.

Our air fryer is now languishing in a cupboard. I even tried oven chips in it and they fall to bits and go mushy. The thermostat knob of our deep fat fryer fell off and can't be repaired, so I stuck it at 180c until I can find a replacement. But they are all tiny these days. ???

A beko taf

My fridge is a beko and my old tumble was one.

Is that the brand that keeps on catching fire?

I took the twins to The Varlees, and bought new quilts, loads of food and other essentials. Pol bought loads of biscuits, crisps, cakes, etc., all things she should be avoiding.

I also bought 5kg of boneless chicken thighs for £20, they have now been vacuum bagged into portions and stashed in the freezer.

6 frying pans. Starfrit The Rock 32cm. We already have one, and it's great, but £14 was a bit steep. Today they were reduced to £4 so I snapped up the last ones.  :D

No sign of the bigger pans today until I asked a bloke up a ladder. He soon found 2 more. Thankyou!!  ;D

Loads of 500g bags of chicken mini fillets reduced from £3.99 to £1.70. Our freezer is now full.

4.2 kg of skinless, boneless chicken thighs at £3.00 per kg. A cancelled order so up for quick sale.

Loads of fat Habaneros chillies that I will part dry and smoke to make a hot, smoky powder.

Mesquite wood chips to do said smoking, less than half price in TKMax.

Beef shin to make a slooooooow cooked casserole.

3kg of chicken wings from a butcher outside Trago Mills. Normally 2kg for £10, but he let me have the last bag to clear his shelves.

480 Dizolve laundry sheets for £47.52. I cleared their stock as the missus loves them, and the last time we found them they would have cost £95.52.

Various chilli sauces and powders at the Chilli Fest. My mate, who is "Chilli of the Valley" gave me a new sauce to try and a large jar of chilli-infused pickled eggs.

The missus wanted pork shoulder steaks for tomorrow. No shop had any, but a stallholder in the market flogged me 4 HUGE ones that had been ordered for a family BBQ but not collected. Really dark meat as they are from a massive wild boar that had been raised by a farmer as a stud. But it would not do the right thing, so it got "chopped".

So does mine Fred. But I have a real problem with asthma and a wet dog. Her damp fur really sets me off.
I do agree though, she does not need a coat to keep warm or dry. Her fur does an excellent job.

Fred x
I bought food again. No plastic or paper bags from tesco anymore either.  It makes my online shop a pain. I have to go to the door with countless shopping bags and decant the shopping into them.
The delivery people would bring it in the kitchen for the customer but I don't want to do that.
Then I unpack it and find mountains of bloody plastic covering my shopping. 😣

The wholesaler upped the price by another 30p, (retail then £2.40), got no takers, so dropped it back to £2.10 retail. Still no takers so he dropped it back to £1.20 wholesale, £1.50 retail. Sales started again. But the bloke I buy it from lets me have it at £1.46 retail. A small saving, but a saving is a saving.

A card of watch batteries and 2 packs of sugar from Poundland (1.65kg for 50p, and odd size ???) 65p/kg in most shops, but only 30p/kg in Poundland. ???

Just found a recall from last year when "small particles of metal" could be in them. But not the batch numbers they are selling now.

The usual food shop and was furious with myself to find I had spent £23 on a joint of ham!
I pointed the slider down to a 1kg priced at about a tenner. But what came was 2.2kg and I didn't  otice till the delivery man had gone and was saying to Chris that shopping was dear this week.
I will use it in various ways but it's bloody expensive for what it is .
