I keep the three bird-baths full, as the birds use it a lot. But, there have been a LOT of other visitors, during this weather.
Bees. Hundreds of them! They've been quite sweet, too. They're all there, having a drink, when I just went down to check them and I saw that the bath was nearly empty. So, I got the hose and went to the bath to fill it up. Being mental, I told them not to panic and explained what I was going to do.
Bugger me, if they didn't all just hover above the surface, whilst I filled it up and they kinda loosely swarmed around, then went straight back to drinking!
This may seem odd, but my cup runneth over. :)
bees die when they sting so only do it as a last resort.
Kat, the bee whisperer
Our bees have become used to me, I don't even get the "Bog Off!" swooping from them now.
Lulu's allergic to bee stings. She's not learnt, though, stoopid animal. :)
