I'd been having problems getting Chappie dog food. Tried the co op near the hairdressers and managed one tin.
Tried Amazon when I got home and saw Morrisons on Amazon. So, 4pm and I put an order in. 5pm I got texts saying we don't have so and so, would you like this instead? That was one item! Tesco normally have go sub most of my shopping!
At 5.45, I got another text saying it is on its way from Manchester.  At 6.05, it was at my door. Lovely fresh veg too. Not packed in plastic with 1 days use by date.
And all in American type brown paper bags.
I'm right impressed with them.
All free delivery as a prime customer too but minimum spend of £40.

Our online shop had no cigarettes again with "no appropriate substitution".
Surely if they have run out of cigarettes altogether, they should inform me beforehand? Or, if they no longer sell them with groceries,  tell me?
This is ticking me off as I'm buying food I don't really need in order to get his cigs (you can't just order cigs and you can't just order alcohol which is fair enough).
Just tell me. And I'll physically go to another supermarket and buy them AND my food elsewhere.

I checked out some prices on the Morrisons website, went to the store, and everything was at least 10% more expensive! And all the offers did not exist except online! Prawnies up from £1 to £1.60!

But an old mate, who retired from his butchery post there a couple of years back, has returned "To make ends meet". He cut me some thick steaks and pork chops, then reduced it all by 25% as "It's been out of the main chiller for too long" (wink, wink).

Argos finally had stock of gas bottles for Sodastream, so I'm glad I had left the empty bottles in the boot a while ago.

But, its great.  My phone chimes and I can see who is at the door on my screen even if I'm in the back of the house or upstairs. I like that I can view the outside of the house without opening the blinds or going go the front door, especially at night.

Miele dusting brush and motorised upholstery brush.
The Shark cordless that I got for upstairs is going in the bin. I'm fed up of it and it's constant filter fiddling and battery low life. The wand handle keeps detaching from the main bit and stops the floor tool. It's an overpriced piece of rubbish.
So it's back to my Miele that plugs in and actually does a much better job. I'll probably get myself another plug in hoover for upstairs as it's hard work taking this one up there. But I'll never buy a cordless again

Aldi and Tesco today. No long life milk, milk powder, flour, vegetable oil or toilet paper. The shelves were ominously bare.

The items I wanted, cod liver oil capsules and mouthwash, were also out of stock.

The only cooking oil in ASDA was Crisp and Dry at £1.50 per litre. I searched the ethnic shelves and found rapeseed at £1.09/litre.

No oil or flour in Lidl, and the UHT milk was almost all gone.

I tried a Morrisons delivery through Amazon and it was brilliant. Ordered at 11am and it was at my door at 6pm all packed in strong cardboard bags.
They texted me if a product not available as they shopped and showed me what they could sub it with.

Many bottles of pop. A CO2 shortage is on the cards, and the lad goes through it like nobody's business.

I looked in Iceland Depot and was shocked at the meat prices. Boneless chicken thighs used to be a great price there, now they are £6.50 a kg!  :-X  Still only £4.50 in Aldi, so I bought them there.

Sainsburys has not had a tobacco restock in 12 days, so I only managed to buy 5 packs.

My mini FM radio for the garden is failing, so I have been looking in all the usual places for a replacement. Nope. They are all DAB things that chew up batteries in hours.

Then I spotted a simple Digital FM portable in B&M, reduced to £6. Perfect, although a little tinny. Press one button, and it comes on at the same volume on the same station.

Pol's 8-year-old gaming PC literally blew up. So I just ordered the one she chose and modified to replace it. £2400!  :o  :o  :o  :o

4k Amazon Firestick. Ordered last evening, arrived just after lunch.  :o  :o  :o

I have set it up, and the HD image is far better than that of the Virgin Media V6 box.

A new 4-slot toaster as "someone" blew the elements on 2 slots.  :grumpy:

The missus won it at a seaside BINGO 13 years ago.

The Shiraz I have enjoyed for over a year has been dropped from 13.5% to 11% due to Rishi's new wine tax bands, It's foul now, and there are no alternatives. A FB mate told me about a company that is selling Polish Karpackie lager 40% cheaper than the Polski Skleps in his area. I used to pay £1 a can, it's now £2, but should be £2.25 under Minimum Unit Pricing in Wales. And free delivery too!

It'll be the first beer I have drunk in about 5 years....

Lidl's large sacks of spuds are usually little known types. But this week they were good-sized Maris Piper, normally an expensive chipping potato.

A variety of chilli sauces from my mate who runs his own, very successful, company. He gave me a new one, designed for a Canadian singer. 100% for our lad as it is based on Maple syrup and ground coffee beans.
