Title: Fao Tâf. Public transport Cardiff.
Post by: Lisa on July 11, 2021, 09:54:50 am
Tâf.. Is it correct there is only one bus in the morning that goes out to St Mellons Business Park from the city centre?

That's what my app is saying... But I think that's nuts?

Our bus went from 4 an hour to 3. Then 2. Now just 1. And if it's "full" it just sails past.

There are no plans to increase the service. Perhaps that's because they made over a third of their drivers redundant, and they won't come back?

I think the X45 still runs 2 an hour from Churchill Way to the Park, but they have a habit of  changing things rapidly ever since they started surveying in Churchill Way, closed the road past the castle, etc.

Hmmm... only one  does city centre to the business park (07:50 - 08:17) all the others now stop at the police station which is a good trot away from the park.

There used to be a bus to Risca that went to the business park. Stagecoach X16.

Hmm... it has been taken off service.

I'm wondering if I'd be better off staying down there for a week... 4hrs travelling each day plus an intensive course..
Not a happy bunny...

Dunno how long it'll take for car to be fixed.

Newport bus have the 30 service that runs from Dumfries Place (by Queen St station) to Wyevale Garden Centre. But it's still about a mile to the business park.

Where's dumfries place.

Lol

The garden centre is on the other side of the estate that I can see. But I think that's as close as I can get... Before walking will be needed

Come out of Queen St station, turn right. Outside Sainsburys cross the road and turn left. One of the bus stops outside the multi-storey car park is the one you want.

The bus stops are in the middle of this pic... on the other side of the road

Cool. That looks to be my best option I think.
Its not until the 19th. So I've got time to work it out.
Trains being hourly is a major pain

If I'm arriving and leaving as late as I think I'll be. I suspect I'll just do my eating there

Cardiff bus is far worse. They change routes and stops too. The lad waited almost an hour at one until someone came out of a shop to tell him it was no longer used.

Complaints always get the same response "Out of our hands".

It was awful, but if it wasn't so hot I'd prefer it to driving.
