What sounds like a smoke alarm is bleeping telling me it needs a new battery.  bleeps every min or so.

Can I find it?

At least I now know where my digital SLR and extra lens are now. :-[

Ditto the two tripods :-[ :-[

Wonder what else I'll find during the search?

Hope it does not keep me up all night.

I took a smoke alarm battery for ONE night and hardly slept at all, so at 3:30 I walked over to Tesco for a new one.

Now they are mains-driven, and if the rechargeable battery fails we have to wait about a week for a replacement.

Beep.... beep...  beep...  beep...  beep...  beep...  beep...  beep...  beep...

Our local fire brigade supplied us with detectors and came and fitted them, for us, too.

When the batteries go flat, they'll even come and change them!

Good, ay?

We've had a result with the bins, too. They now come and get the bins from where we have them and replace them, too, when they've emptied them. :) (Only about two steps from the front, as it happens). None of that, 'til we got rid of the Tory majority on the council.

We had new ones fitted with the building .  A heat one in his room, a smoke one in kitchen, smoke in hall and smoke on landing. They are all wired into the lights.
It's been almost a year so I'll soon find out if batteries need replacement.  Weirdly. , I can see a test button but no cover for replacement?
I might inquire about bin emptying.  Not sure they would cos only Chris is disabled.

Just thought . Better not in case my dog does her job and stops them removing bins.

The rechargeable ones have quite a long life, years possibly. It's just that ours were old stock when they were fitted, and the fitting company has got caught for replacing the lot as they fail.

Yay!

We use Fire Angel smoke alarms - they don't go off when you burn the toast! They work on AA batteries so we always have a spare.

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
