They heat up quickly (mere seconds)

If they are fan assisted they are more efficient

If the halogen lamps are behind glass screens they are easy to clean

But if they are behind a grillwork with a fan they can be a pain to clean unless the oven has a self-clean cycle.

Gas wastes 2 to 3 times more energy than any electric oven, but electricity costs more per kwh than gas, so it's almost an equal trade-off.

The halogen lamps can reach 1000c, so at the lower cooking temperatures they are hardly heated at all so last for years.

Roasts, etc., get crisper and browner... so you have to relearn a bit if you are moving from gas.

Halogen stovetops are the dog's bits (quartz glass tops that are easy to wipe clean) but make sure your pots and pans are halogen-friendly.

You quickly learn to stand back when opening the oven or the blast of hot, moist air will get you!!!

Well looking at it I think it'll be big enough for me to cook meals big enough to have some for freezing as well. Between that & the microwave I really won't need to use the Range oven
