when i did icream it was like rock.

You have to fluff it up a few times as it slowly freezes.

Did you use a custard base (cooked before freezing) or a cream base (mixed then frozen)?

I find the cream ones go flat too quickly. Try making a sorbet...

 For you 'Pam'...

 Banana Tea Loaf

225 g (8 oz)  Self Raising Flour
1 x 1.25 ml (¼ tsp) spoon    bicarbonate of soda
pinch    salt
75 g (3 oz)    butter
175 g (6 oz)    caster sugar
2 medium    eggs, beaten
450 g (1 lb)    bananas weighed with skin, peeled, mashed
100 g (4 oz)    walnuts, chopped

1    Heat oven to 180ŗC, 350ŗF, Gas Mark 4. Grease and line the base of a 1 kg (2 lb.) loaf tin.
2    Mix together flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt.
3    Cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy, add the eggs a little at a time alternately with the flour.
4    Stir in the remaining flour, bananas and walnuts and place in prepared tin. Bake for about 1¼ hours.
5    Cool on a wire rack

I use Raisins instead of Walnuts

'Lisa', I used this recipe for the Choc Mint Ice Cream

 225ml semi skimmed milk
 50g castor sugar
 225ml double cream
 few drops peppermint extract
 75g grated plain choc

Put milk & sugar in a saucepan over a low heat unti sugar has dissolved then leave to cool.
Stir the cream & peppermint extract into the cooled milk.
Pour the mixture into the bowl with the paddle running.
When the mixture starts to freeze add the grated choc. Allow to freeze unyil desired consistancy is reached.

 The Strawberry Ice Cream

 350gstrawberries
 75g castor sugar
 200ml whipping cream
 juice of half a lemon

Puree the Strawberries, add the remaining ingredients.
Pour the mixture into the bowl with the paddle running.
Allow mixture to freeze until desired consistency is reached

Yes they are both using the Ice Cream Maker
