fecking washine machine!!
« on: November 29, 2013, 19:53:43 PM »
its decided to die, i have only had it since july and I am not best pleased.
even with the high usage it gets it shouldn't have died yet

i can't find the manual anywhere online, and the one i have found in the house is arabic, which is pretty much useless to me.

i think it thinks, the filer is clogged, but having taken it out and washed it. I can confirm it is fine.
No matter what program i try to put it on, it works for a few seconds, dies, and an error pops up briefly on the display before dying and attempting the program again...

as for the errorcode, your guess is as good as mine, I think it is saying 2a, my daughter thinks it is a lower case d then a.
it's not clear either way..

helpline open at 8am, so i'll be on the phone.
It is supposed to be under warranty and with a 5 years part guarantee, so hopefully it won't cost...

If you give us the make'n'model, we could look for a manual.

Still, the helpline's available, now, so...

My Zanussi mate can't find one either. And if if he can't, using their own database, you might be stuffed. He suggested a drain blockage, or fill problem due to blocked inlet filter on the hose or knackered inlet valve.

If it's any help, I'm a Hoover Washing Machine service engineer.

 :)

What exactly is occuring?

ps. If you go to the Prices page on my website, click on the Hoover Manuals Download button Here

and enter your model number, it will download the pdf for you. If your exact model is not listed , just download the one that is nearest.

All I know for sure is that it was half way through the wash, it may have been the rinse cycle, when I noticed the display was flashing.
Its never done it before and it's not entirely clear what the display is saying. It's not there for long enough.
I set it to drain, to remove clothes and it attempts for a minute, turns itself off, flashes error and tries again.
if I drain it manually I can empty the machine.
the filter is clear.
the spinning fan like thing by the filter goes round.

if I set it to rinse it takes in water fine.
if I set it to spin it seems to get stuck as it drains.
I'll try the machine on an empty wash to see how far it gets.

:) The" fan like thing" is the discharge pump, you may have a "drain timeout", does your discharge hose go into a standpipe on the wall behind the machine, or into a u bend under the sink? if the latter, check there has been no build up of detritus in the u bend that could slow down the discharge rate. That machine will only pump out for a certain time, if it does not notice a sufficient decrease in water level in that time, it "times out" and stops.

I will pm you  ;)
