Security software. What's the point?
« on: February 07, 2016, 12:02:20 PM »
We have an old lappy, with W10 on. Jane used it, today, to do various girly things involving Fartbook, Twatter, 38 Degrees and the like. She kept whinging about pages not working.

Thing is, being security-conscious, the browser I have installed, PaleMoon, has Ghostery and NoScript installed and they were blocking loads of stuff, which prevents Facebook and Twatter from working, properly. With the number of off-site things listening to what gets done, there, I'm not surprised! This has only reinforced my view that Fartbook/Twatter aren't terribly pleasant and made me want to use them even less.

Naturally, the afore-mentioned security programs have been disabled and I'll not be using the lappy, any more...  ::)
