Vivaldi Browser
« on: February 25, 2016, 17:25:56 PM »
Chrome is going soon (April), Firefox has become a churning memory hound, so I'm trialing the Vivaldi browser (as opposed to the Vivlidl one).

Built by ex-Opera bods, it's very Opera-like and will soon have an inbuilt email program.

Can I pick a theme for one of the four seasons? ;D

Been using it since the very first beta, Taf, coz I got invited. :)

I'm a bit wary of it being built on the Chrome engine, myself. I check every add-on, scrupulously, before I add any. MUCH better than the latest incarnation of Opera. I still use v12 as my default browser. It used to have some weird issues with FlashPlayer, which seem to have been sorted out, now.

The only "Theme" options, thus far, are "Dark", or "Light".

I've found a few bugs, but generally it's a good browser.

In many ways, I find it to be the best around, now. When the mail client's built-in, it'll probably become my default.

I'm quite getting into Lunascape, too. As that can switch engines, on the fly, you can use extensions from all of those engines, if you want to.

HoN checked for me, Google Chrome is only going if you are using Vista or XP, and as my new lappie has Windows 10, I'm staying with it. For now, anyway.

It's my browser of choice, now.

Been trialling Cliqz, but it's not configurable enough, for me. Not a bad browser, though. Seems very secure.

Based on Firefox, though. Not that you'd know it, using the thing.
