The old one died one month after the warranty ran out. :'(

It's the third one to do that to me so would I be a cynic to think that there is a 'kill code' after a certain date built in by the manufacturer?

Never found a 'recovery' disk/partition to do what it says on the tin.
I jumped off a bridge in Paris.

They told me I was in seine

Me neither, and every Image disk I made becomes "faulty".

A mate told me that 99% of DEAD PC's he bought for bits all had the same fault... dried-up thermal compound on the processor. £2 to fix each time.

Happy confusing  ;D
It's a shame they're not fixable anymore  :-X
We've not used our pc or laptop for about 12 months and that was only to scan and copy documents. Have not missed it either. I prefer my phone and tablet.
I bought Chris a notebook to use but we don't use that either. It's forever updating itself . You go on for a quick game of cut the rope  for him and the bugger starts updating windows.
