For anyone else using Opera v12.17.

Although it's not been supported for ages, Opera have released v12.18. It's a security fix and it does, actually, improve things. For example, I couldn't access many https sites. Can, now.

If you're wonder why they did this, it's been postulated that as the company are in negotiations to hook up, in some way, with some Chinese organisation, they thought it would benefit their business profile...

It seems a LOT of people still use v12.x and I can understand why, coz it was a damned good browser and still is.
