Hon and I spent a month in mid-Sept to mid-October driving round the Western half of USA. It was officially my retirement holiday (I've just gone part-time by taking my pension early) but I just wanted to tick off a few places on my bucket list. We saw -
San Francisco
Yosemite
Mammoth Lakes
Death Valley/Amargosa Valley/Area 51
Zion National Park
Bryce Canyon
Page/Horseshoe Canyon
Monument Valley/Forrest Gump Point
The Grand Canyon
Winslow, AZ and Meteor Crater
Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest
Route 66 (some of!)
Flagstaff
Lake Havasu/London Bridge
Las Vegas
Mojave Desert
San Simeon
Big Sur
Carmel-on-Sea
Monterey
and back to San Francisco!
The round trip was about 3,500 miles and Hon drove about 2,500 of them.
Amazing trip and somewhere we'll never forget! :D

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

I've been trying to post pics but TT isn't having them - possibly the attachments are too large. I will try and get them loaded onto something like flicker so you can see them - I took so many pics I can't possibly share them all individually.
