Title: door glass shattering
Post by: fred on February 20, 2018, 18:36:08 PM
as it says the glass on my back door has shattered  seemingly all by itself.  The good side is it's toughened glass and only one pane of the double glazing has gone.  At least the window is still weatherproof.  The fun will be getting someone interested in what is a piddling little job.

New windows around here shattered one-by-one until the glazers came out and did checks. The panels had been assembled without a grommet layer somewhere, so metal-against-glass gradually scratched the glass. All it needed then was a bump or a sudden change of temperature.
