They nest in our eaves every year, and love the fat balls I put out.
We had zillions, until the twat behind us cut ALL his trees down.

We used to see them regularly when I was a kid. In Surrey. They were beautiful. You rarely see them now. Along with moths and bumblebees. The Earth is slowly dying.:'(
Not at the mouth if the Thames, thankfully. They still get huge murmurations, there.

I live at the mouth of the Thames. Never seen any here, and apart from 8 years in Ashford, I've lived here since 1988. :(
I'm talking about the north of the estuary, around Shoeburyness and Foulness. Even as far west as Pitsea. Especially at dawn.
