New mother board for my laptop. Hubby is fixing it up for another year then I'll get a new one.
A letter from the Home Office asking the missus if she wants to stay in the UK !!! :o :o :o
She applied to stay as we arrived in the UK from our French wedding in 1986, and she received a letter granting "Permanent Right To Remain". But apparently that is no longer valid?
So we've done the application online, and now have to send her French ID card to them within 30 days (last day for application is the mid-June for all EU citizens in the UK).
But her ID has expired on the card, so we've had to add the letter from the Consulate that all IDs have been granted 15 years validity due to covid-19.
Luckily I kept the "Permanent Right To Remain" letter, so have a copy for them.
After she is allowed to stay, we then have to start the process for the twins as it's a grey area!!!!!!
Weren't your children born here though? I would have thought if they were born in the UK, with a parent also born in the UK , their rights would be automatic ???
Good job you kept that letter for your wife :D

The lad's PIP renewal form.
Not as complicated as the original forms, but a fair bit of writing to do, unlike the "soft touch" approach they said they would be doing (e.g. Are you still the same? Have your bank details changed? Are you still living in the same place?).
And under 3 weeks to do it all, a short time if supporting letters had to be arranged.
It must be difficult to get supporting letters off Dr's and professionals that haven't actually seen people . It makes you wonder how they will do new pip assessments.
Quote from: El on December 31, 2021, 14:46:02 PMIt must be difficult to get supporting letters off Dr's and professionals that haven't actually seen people . It makes you wonder how they will do new pip assessments.
For those that need them, it's going to be a rough round of reassessments. Luckily, the lad is not seen by any specialists, despite being put on a list to see 2 a few years back. And this new form says that "supporting letters from GPs are not allowed".

ditto. Evri is delivering for Amazon as the Amazon EVs don't like cold weather.
The status of my Amazon package changed from "before 8pm" to "will arrive in 4 days". Bloody Evri. :grumpy:

classic EVRI
I checked the Amazon site, and it still said "4 more days". Then it updated, said it would be here "before 8", the doorbell rang and it was the package!
The driver said it was on his van last evening, but he hadn't loaded it, so it wasn't booked for delivery. ???
A Temu order is out for delivery.
A letter moving my dental checkup from tomorrow to today. Dated last Friday, but postmarked 2 days ago.
A large order of vapes for the missus, and an eclectic order from Temu: 2 types of rug grippers, antislip stickers for slippers (ironic), 2 pickle forks, and 2 tops for the missus.
Hotel Chocolate chocolates
A pack of 7 LFT's for covid-19 sent from Bristol. Useby date 2023.08.21. 24 hour Royal Mail delivery. ???

Rent increase. 2.7%, but they wanted 5.7%!
House contents insurance, £26 less than last year
Premium Bond wins:
The missus got £75
I got £225 for the second time in row. ;D
A letter from HMRC arrived later today. They reckon I owe (exactly) £75 due to savings interest and them changing my tax codes around . It will be deducted from my tax-free allowance over the next financial year.

A letter from the taxman. Almost £100 due in Income Tax from my savings account interest for 23/24. They will take it off one of my pensions in 12 instalments.
Tax on 24/25 will appear soon. It's hardly worth saving anything these days, as they will always hammer us.
Expecting a parcel
Parcel arrived
2 letters from the hospital for the missus.
The first moved her appointment from the 11th to the 21st.
The second moved it from the 21st to the 28th.
Amazon has just delivered a new weather station
Premium Bond wins. Nothing for the lads, £50 for Pol, £225 for the missus.
Delivery arrived, but true to EVRI to the wrong address had to go to the next road bin shed to collect it
Another batch of vapes for the missus. I'm surprised that she has stayed off the baccy for so long. The GP said that her oxygen levels were close to normal now.
I ordered a replacement power supply for a neighbour's battery-powered mower from Amazon at 11 this morning. They say it will be delivered TODAY.
It's coming from Bristol, not Swansea. :o
HMRC notification that they will be taking £14 a month in extra tax off me for 24/25 due to bank interest.
I set up a Cash ISA the other day, but Santander are being a bit tardy in letting me move money to it. :grumpy:

A letter arrived today with the proper rate.
I bought rust converter from Temu. The pot lid was cracked during the trip, and it leaked inside the sealed bag, so they refunded me with no quibble at all.
Waiting for an Amazon delivery
Delivery arrived
EVRI managed to deliver to right address for a change
Temu order for the missus. 7 days, and I think that's a record.
A long time ago, our usual place to buy cat flea treatments shut down due to covid. So I ordered from ebay. They sent the wrong type, so I sent them back and had a full refund.
Then the package came back, "delivery refused".
I held onto them for a while in case the seller had a moan, but eventually tried to sell them, but all sales of such items had been banned by the usual sites.
Then the usual place reopened, and they forwarded an email from the manufacturer to say that a lot of dangerous counterfeits had been detected in the EU and UK.
I sent photos to the manufacturer, and they sent me a package to send them to them for investigation.
Out of the blue, today I received 2 full packs of the correct items free of charge, with a list of reputable sellers. They are worth about £50!!!! :o :o :o
Premium Bonds wins. £150 for the missus, £100 for Pol, but just £50 for me.
Another local Chinese menu, and it's a lot more expensive than our usual one, despite them putting up their prices a while back.

Expecting a new printer later, delivery time after 5.15
Printer cartridges and Hotel Chocolate chocolates
An item from ebay was received by Royal Mail Tracked 24 on Thursday morning, due to be delivered before 14:27 today. Still no sign of it.
The ebay items, 2 NATO pullovers, arrived after over 3 days on 24-hour delivery. They are the "new" style that appeared in 2015, but still 50/50 wool and acrylic, but apparently far more durable.
New keypad and mouse, the i key was sticking on old keypad

A Reform leaflet. Still no idea who the local candidates will be though.
I reported blocked rain gutters and downpipes causing surface flooding. The council sent someone out after a month, but he just said it would be done "soon". I have just been informed that it will be sorted "mid-July".
:grumpy:
I also reported that a street tree branch is less than 1m from the BT overhead line. BT says it is the landowner that must prune it. The council said it is BT that have to do the work.

The lad received his £90 order from Approved Foods.
A Temu order didn't arrive on time, then a neighbour told me that "a strange man" had been around the side of the house after midnight. There I found the package.
An invite to arrange my next colonoscopy. I hope they have responded to feedback and changed the laxative flavour away from the awful vanilla flavour.
The colonoscopy prep kit. Forms to fill in, stool softener to take for 3 days, then the laxative that has been changed away from the awful vanilla one that you had to drink so much water with that you slosh as you move. One dose in the evening, then one at 5 am ( :o :o ) on the day of the procedure.
"Bring a change of underwear" was the last bit of advice I was given by the nurse.

2 letters from HMRC. One says 24/25 I paid £26 too much tax which I can claim back. The other for 25/26 says they think I will owe £42, so they fiddle my income to get that back.
They could have just taxed my State Pension, but that would raise too many pensioners' hackles, I suspect.

Temu item, and a letter to day that my Civil Service Pension is up by £2 a month as I now have part of the missus' tax allowance.

It was spotted by a plumber fitting a new shower to a mate's home.
The water company has had bods out looking for a leak for a couple of days, but don't seem to have found it yet.
