Labour, in search of Net Zero, want us to move away from Gas heating and cooking (about 8p/kwh and 30p a day Standing Charge) to Electric heating and cooking (about 30p/kwh and 55p a day Standing Charge).
Our council is looking at a Civil Partnership with companies to instal solar panels and heat exchangers to most of its housing stock and office buildings.
New regulations mean that batteries for solar panel installations have to be "outdoors and away from any flammable material". And those batteries would be Lithium types. Expensive lithium types that would attract thieves.
My induction cooker uses far less energy than my gas cooker and works out cheaper to use.

I have a portable induction heater for cooking chillies outdoors. I wanted one for the home, but they are still too fragile to survive the twins.
I've got a portable one as well, for when I need an additional ring to cook on.
