As I reached for the front door handle, there was a massive roaring sound from outside.

I thought "Drain clearance lorry at this time of night?"

Nope, I opened the door to see and hear a downpour like I've never seen before!

It only lasted about 10 seconds, but the garden was awash, as was the road.

The "heavy rain" finally got here.

10c and drizzling now.
