The council still hadn't called to fix the upstairs flush, so I called them, and they apologised as their contractor had marked it as "complete".

So they got the contractor to call and get the job done today. But their boss called and offered next Wednesday!

I told him we will be in lockdown as of Saturday morning until the following Saturday. No visitors or leaving the house.

So he will "try to find a plumber" and call back this morning.

Meanwhile, all of us here has to have a covid test 3 days before the missus' op next Tuesday. No-one has called to arrange them, so I'll to chase that too.

And on top of all that, the lad wants to get to Sainsburys today to exchange the gas bottles for his Sodastream.

I found my old bum bag after seeing your post  and it's fantastic for when I take the dog out. Hands free for her treats, poop bags, my inhaler and I have a whistle in there in case someone tries to steal the dog    plus I can hold her lead in one hand and an umbrella in the other.
Bonus is that my pockets don't get full of dog treat stench .

Coming back from shopping, we were stuck in a logjam for 20 minutes before it started to clear. No idea why, but there were police all over the place stopping vehicles entering the hospital or even driving past it on the dual carriageway.

I have to take the missus for a pre-op covid test, then we have to isolate at home until 3 days after the op on Tuesday.

Apart from a couple of hours shopping each week, nothing will change.

Luckily, the contractor plumber turned up yesterday, or we would have only one toilet for the next week. His boss was called by the council and threatened with fines for not actually completing work, but claiming payment to say it was.

The thumblock in the bathroom sheared off with Pol stuck inside. A drill saved the day.

Now I'm looking for a replacement online.
