A PCSO was on patrol this morning. He told me that there have been reports of a burglar sneaking around by the back gardens.

I checked the sheds. All OK, but the lid of the pond filter had been crushed (again) probably by someone climbing over the fence.

That had moved the outflow pipe and caused it to empty the pond almost completely. I can't leave the fish in 6" of water with -5c forecast soon. So I shall have to reconnect the hosepipe, fill the water butt, treat the water, then wait for the water in the pond and the butt to get to the same temperature. Then It'll be safe to refill the pond.

It's French week in Lidl, so the missus wants me to take her shopping.

Food shop done, including big packs of Chicken Breasts and Pork Steaks for the freezer as they are on offer, u3a this afternoon

I have been making a list of chores to do in the garden. But it's too chilly to actually do them yet.

I walked over to Aldi, the shop was packed and there were people waiting outside for trolleys! 

All the tills were open too!

One of our neighbours does temp work for an agency. She told me that she spends most of her time doing paperwork online for Universal Credit.
