Pol got a cancellation to have a small filling, so while she's being done, I'll lurk in Lidl.

The wind blew down a couple of quinces, so I picked the last 2 that I can easily reach. One is up there at 5 metres taunting me.

The fan oven thermostat has been iffy for a while, and a new spare costs more than half a new oven. The gas hob fails to light electrically, and 2 burners are badly corroded underneath.

We've looked online, and they are about the same price everywhere, so the missus and I are off to Currys to buy a new oven and hob. Currys also offers the hob installation for £120, far less than anywhere else.

7 hobs on our shortlist, Currys had only one of them on display, and all of them are "delivery only" from a central warehouse.

Only one of the ovens were on display, and it also is available for delivery only. 7 to 10 days.

The hob installation service is not available until after Xmas, though they are trying to employ more fitters due to high demand.

The nurse arranged for the missus to have hers next week, but ours will be "weeks away". No free jab for the lad this year, and they are now £16 in Tesco.
