After sorting out my daughter's rolling contract, I asked about the PAYG credit refund. All I had to do was give them a card number, and it was refunded immediately.

"I see you have a credit of £8.45, and that you last topped-up from £2.20 with £10 in September 2019".

Then I jumped to ASDA PAYG, 4p per text, minute or 1Mb. I just have to use it once every 180 days to keep it active.
