Sweaty, and if the wind gets you, it's nasty windchill.

The lad was fiddling with the radio in the bathroom yesterday. This morning it set off its alarm at 6:30. :grumpy:

Renault Dacia are hopeless at communicating internally. :grumpy:

When I bought my 2019 Logan Essential TCE 0.9 this January, I was not given a radio code, so I asked the salesman to find it for me.

He never came back.

Dacia Central phoned to sort out the booking for the MOT and service. I was told that the radio is linked to the car's VIN, so I don't need a code. I told them not to change the engine air filter or cabin filter.

Last Friday, I had an email for me to confirm I would be turning up the next Monday. It stated "change engine air filter and cabin filter. Also "provide radio code £10". In the "work required" box I entered "DO NOT CHANGE THE ENGINE AIR FILTER OR CABIN FILTER, RADIO CODE NOT REQUIRED AS IT IS TIED TO THE VIN".

I arrived at the dealership at 8:15, and was asked to sign the "work required" sheet. It included "change engine air filter and cabin filter. Also "provide radio code £10".

Starting to lose my head, I told the receptionist "DO NOT CHANGE THE ENGINE AIR FILTER OR CABIN FILTER, RADIO CODE NOT REQUIRED AS IT IS TIED TO THE VIN".

She crossed them out, and told me she would phone 30 minutes before the car was ready so that I could hop onto a bus to get there before rush hour started.

An hour later she phoned me to say that the technician needed to remove the radio to reprogram it. £130!!!

NOPE!!!

At 12:10 I got an email telling me that the inspection video could be found online. Suspecting that this meant the car would be ready soon, I got on a bus and was there in a few minutes. I was told that the car was with the valet, but I could see it in the car park. She chased around trying to find the keys. No luck for ages, then she was told that the valet had dropped off the keys at 11:05 and left for lunch.

Another search and there were the keys on the wrong desk! I checked out the car, and it looked like it had merely been sprayed with water as muck was still stuck to it.

Anyway the final bill for Service "B", change brake fluid and MOT came out a lot cheaper at £363.83, just under £100 less than the original quote!!

A gentle wake up at a reasonable hour for once.
